Below are some examples of Decks we have designed and built in Marin County. There are many options for decking surface materials and railings.

  Ipe hardwood decking in combination with stainless steel cable railings.
     
Another deck surfaced with Cumaru hardwood decking and redwood guard rail. The trellis detail was designed on site by our team and really gives the deck an original custom feel.  
     
  Here is an example of Cumaru hardwood decking installed at a 45o angle in combination with a more traditional redwood guard rail. We designed this deck to fit in with the architectural elements of the residence.
 
Trex “Accents” composite decking in grey with redwood and galvanized hog wire guard rails. Our clients for this project were interested in decking that requires minimal maintenance and was child friendly (no splintering). This was a great choice for their needs.  
     
  Notice the chamfered posts and routered edges of this redwood railing. We fabricate our railings in our San Rafael woodshop for efficiency and the highest quality of finish.
 
Designed to the view. This is a custom hillside design to meet three of our clients needs:

1.Take advantage of the view,

2. Create a space for outdoor gatherings with seating and storage space, and

3. Extend and connect the outdoor dining to the existing dining room.

This project involved an existing deck with extreme sun exposure and a solid railing that didn’t take advantage of the amazing view. Our solution was to design and build an outdoor pergola/sun shade and replace the existing railings with the transparent cable rail system to take advantage of the views from both the deck and living room areas inside the house.
